MSP430Gxxxx not supported in IAR Workbench?

I'm bringing up a board which uses the MSP430G2101 microcontroller, and I'm using IAR Kickstart. However, I don't see the device listed; the closest I see is the MSP430F2101. Is this device not supported? Do I have to use CCS instead?

Hi Scott,

Are you looking in the right place? The MSP430G2101 is located in the "MSP430Gxxxx Family" submenu, instead of the "MSP430x2xx Family" submenu.

I don't see any submenus...how do I get there? I don't use this forum much, so I don't know my way around very well.

Go into Project->Options. When you click on the button beside the device name, a menu pops up with a list of device families, each of which is a submenu. You should then see "MSP430Gxxxx Family" in the list.

That's what I was doing, but I don't see that family listed.

I think I may be using too old a version of IAR -- it's the one from the CD which came with the MSP-FET430UIF. Downloading the latest from the TI website now.
