Help choosing the correct development tools, MSP430F1222

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F1222

I have been using the MSP430ez for a few weeks and ran into a problem where the targets supported by the ez don't have enought IO pins for my application.

I ordered the F1222 because I had some surface mount to pdip converters laying around that fit the F1222's package.... Without realizing that I couldn't program it.

I have been looking around TI's page and seems that I need a MSP430-FET-UIF to do in circuit debugging, can I also use this to program a chip on my own bread board?

If UIF wont program the F1222 the way that I want, what other tools are availble to program the F1222 (under $200) if any?

Thank you, Adam
