MSP430F5436 RTC supply voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5436, MSP430F5436A

Is the voltage to the RTC pins for the MSP430F5436 supplied through the VCC pins on the micro or is it supposed to be supplied externally.

Thanks

First, I suggest that you use the MSP430F5436A instead of the MSP430F5436.

If the MSP430F5436A is powered, then the RTC is powered.  There is no separate supply voltage input for the real time clock.

The only pin for the RTC is RTCCLK, which you could configure as an output.  Here is another forum thread that has some more details on that.

Cannot see RTCCLK at ouput pin?
