G2312 family SVSIN reset - from where?

Hi Folks,

I have a circuit using an MSP430G2312 which is showing unexpected reset behaviour. These chips have a BOR brown out reset and a SVS supply voltage supervisor.

Looking at the SVS module, the default reset level comes from the SVSIN connection. Neither SLAU144J (family) or SLAS722E (device) datasheets say where SVSIN comes from. Yet it is enabled as a default.

Does anyone know where SVSIN actually goes to in this family of chips?

looking into the SLAS722, it seems that MSP430G2x12 doesn't have SVS module. BOR is of course available.

Thanks Leo,

I agree. It's not alway clear what these devices have in them from the datasheets. But looking at the registers available in the IDE, those for the supply voltag esuperisor module are not shown. Therefore the module cannot be there.

I still have onging reset problems with these G2312 chips, best kept for another thread.

But it is. Just not from the overview page.

You can take a look at the peripheral map table (it shows all existing modules and their register addresses – if there is no SVS listed, then there is no SVS). Also, each existing module usually gets a separate paragraph in the peripherals chapter of the datasheet.
