MSP430 Flasher Pins

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5438A

Folks,

Several weeks ago, while working with another problem, I was introduced to the Texas Instruments MSP430 Flasher software which uses the TI FET to download a TI.txt file produced by our IAR workbench in release mode onto a MSP430 TI chip.  It works very nicely and I am wondering if we could use it to load our release software onto prototype chips here.  At present, we are using a version of the TI bootstrap loader.  This method requires us to provide a 5-pin header on our devices labeled as follows:  1-BSL-TXD, 2-BSL-RXD, 3-RST, 4-TST, and 5-ground.  Now, I know the TI Flasher uses the FET attached to a JTAG header, but I don’t think all of these JTAG pins are used when just installing the software from the TI.txt file.

I am hoping someone can tell me the minimum number of pins required between the FET and the chip to accomplish this software download, and which pins they are.  Actually, I am hoping (perhaps naively) that it is the same 5 pins we are using with the bootstrap loader.  Would you please advise me on this?  We are working with the MSP430F5438A chip.
