Does DRV8801 require microcontroller to to operate

I would like to use the brushed motor driver DRV8801 to run a brushed motor. does this driver require a microcontroller? if it does is there an example of source code that I can download? thank you

    No. It just requires a direction signal and a PWM input source for speed control. Both of those can be accomplished without a microcontroller.

    However, that being said, there is a DRV8801EVM kit you can buy that does have an MSP430 device on it for programmable control.

    You could ask over in the forum for the motor controller about the source code for that kit.
