MSP430F4783 temperature sensor accuracy

Hi,

I want to use MSP430F4738 temperature sensor.

I would like to know the typical accuracy(±℃) of the SD16_A integrated temperature sensor.

Regards,

FSSer

  • For the measurement of the sensor voltage, have a look at the SD16_A performance in the datasheet. dB is a ratio; at a gain of 1, you get a 83 dB signal-to-noise ratio, which corresponds to an amplitude ratio of about 14125, i.e., you get noise of about 1/14125th of the 500 mV input signal, i.e., 0.035 mV.
To decrease noise, increase the oversampling rate (OSR) as much as possible. You might want to do even more oversampling by doing multiple measurements and averaging the values.
As for the sensor voltage itself, see the parameters in the datasheet. The variations between chips are so large that it would be a good idea to calibrate yours. How much the SD16_A noise affects the temperature measurement depends on the magnitude of the temperature coefficient.
  • Thank you for your reply.

I was able to understand it by your answer to reference.

I will study more about SD16_A.

    Thanks and Regards,

    FSSer
