MSP430F425 vs MSP430F425A ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F425, MSP430F425A

Hi

Facing a customer migration which requires some qualifications and certifications, is it possible to get a list of the differences between MSP430F425 and the MSP430F425A versions.

A technical summary would be helpfull to help our customer to work on the major differences instead of comparing the datasheets...

Thanks & Best Regards

  • Hello Sebastion,

The MSP430F425 is Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND). This is due tot he updated version , MSP430F425A, being released. When an "A" version of a part is done, this usually means a fix to the part that greatly effects performance of parts of the device and/or a fix applied to a critical errata or several errata fixed at once. The best place to find differences between the two is the errata documents. From here it can be see the SD module erratas were fixed. This would mean changes were made to the analog front end of the device in order to fix performance issues.

    Regards,
    JH
