MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device

I am using MSP430 USB-DEBUG-INTERFACE(MSP - FET430UIF) to debug my MSP430FG437 placed in MSP- TS430PN80(target board).

I just started a new project in CCS(Version: 6.1.1.00022 ) for blinking an LED. While starting new project , MSP430FG437 was selected in device field.

Now when am trying to debug , it shows that "MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device".

Can someone help me out to solve this problem.

Hi,

Are you sure that you have the pin1 indicator in the correct location? On some of the parts, it can be slightly tricky to identify pin 1. Using a bright light or a magnifying glass / microscope can help with this.

Also, can you confirm that jumper JP1 is connected to "int" and not "ext". Also, please ensure jumper JP2 is shorted as well.
