Overall, I'm looking for a programming method for field firmware updates from PC.

I have a custom board with MSP430F2617 connected by FT232RL to PC over USB.  The DTR and RTS lines are connected to the RST and TCK respectively and Tx/Rx are connected to the appropriate MSP430 lines.

I'd like to use the default BSL and available software.  When I run the BSL Scripter (accessing the FT232RL by virtual com port driver, VCP), the lines are held low and the device doesn't receive the BSL entry sequence.

Are there any applications that are known to handle this configuration?  Or other suggestions?
