What is the input impedance of ADC in CC430F6147

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC430F6147

Dear All,

i cant able to find the impedance value of ADC in CC430F6147.

Anybody know it please guide me.

  • Moving to the MSP forum since this question is not about the RF part.

Impedance is complex: series 36KOhm or 96KOhm depending on AVCC, parallel capacitance 3.5pF (datasheet page 62, table "10-Bit ADC, Power Supply and Input Range Conditions" ). Pin leakage current: +/- 50nA (datasheet page 45, table "Digital Inputs").
  • thanks

What is the meaning/ effect of High-Impedance leakage current? what should I take care for it?

I am going to use sensor whose Output Impedance is around 32KOhm with 1.2V < Vout < 1.8V range.
shall I need to put Signal conditioning (Impedance matching) Op-Amp for better result?

    Thanks for your help.

As you asked impedance figures, I provided complete answer - which indeed includes leakage resistance specified as leakage current, thou it's so small that it does not impact ADC results.

Depends on sampling time. If it is long enough for comparably large impedance of your source, then you don't need buffer. You shall read User' s Guide for chip, search for "sample timing considerations".
