Hi TI,

As I see MSP-DSPLIB is actually not supporting MSP432 microcontrollers right now. I really want to compare DSP performance and power consumption capability of MPY32 vs. LEA vs Cortex M4 SIMD with DSP extenstions (MSP-DSPLIB and CMSIS DSPLIB) on different microcontrollers.

So, my question can be like this: "when it will happen"? :)

Given that the MSP432 has the same Cortex-M4F core as the Tiva series devices, the thread MSP432 Launchpad - CMSIS DSP Library - FFT Example - Debug Problem suggests you can follow the advice in www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spma041 to get the ARM CMSIS DSP code to run on a MSP432. Note the need to ensure the MSP432 watchdog is disabled, as explained in the referenced thread.

The benchmark is available now: www.ti.com/.../slaa707.pdf And it looks like MSP430 with LEA has a few times better performance with significantly lower power consumption compare to MPS432.

For q15, as the document suggests, one doesn't need a M4F. Somehow like driving a sports car in first gear.

With q31 or float, the picture would be somehow different.

LEA unit have 32-bit architecture by default. But it can operate in the first gear as well. :)
