Unused LCDCAP/R33 pin in MSO430FR6979

Hi Ti Members

We are using MSP430FR6979 in our project.We are using LCD with I2C interface not with the LCD interface already in the controller.

Please suggest what we have to do with LCDCAP/R33 pin if unused.

Did you look into the User's Guide already? Search for "Unused Pins".

Hi Dennis

Yes, I have looked into the user guide .They have suggested it to connect with VSS voltage.
But i don't able to understand that what will be the behavior of this pin before configuration.
At configuration time i understand that it will disable charge pump.But what happen to this pin before configuration.
Either we have to connect any capacitor or not on this pin if unused.

Hi Jasbeer!

I just had a look into the User's Guide and it doesn't say anything at all about the LCDCAP/R33 pin. But this information is given in the Datasheet. It says that when not used, this pin can be tied to either supplies, means connect it to DVcc or DVss. So it is up to you - chose one of them.

The initial state for the LCD module is off.
