Hello Team430,

I'm looking for detail WRT the bootloader (BSL) in the MSP430AFE251. The datasheet does not seem to include detail WRT the device-specific implementation. The Family User Guide just contains some general info for the broader family. SLAU319 (MSP430™ Programming With the Bootloader BSL) does not include detil WRT the MSP430AFExxx family. Looking for device specific detail.. what bootloader is included.. is it in ROM or flash, which pins is it connected to, etc..

Hi Merril,

You're right. There doesn't seem to be anything mentioned about the BSL in the datasheet, and the discussion about BSL in the User's Guide is very generic. I'll need to ask our Systems team about this and get back to you.

Hi Merril,

I've confirmed that the MSP430AFE25x devices do NOT have the BSL feature. This would explain why there's no mention of it in the datasheet. Unfortunately, I noticed that the product folder on TI.com shows that these devices have a UART BSL, but I've submitted a request to remove this.
