How do you blow the JTAG security fuse on the MSP430F2001 / MSP430F2011 MCU?

I have the MSP LaunchPad MSP-EXP430G2, which I know does not support the fuse blow. I have read that the MSP Flasher can blow the security fuse using the ez430, but I have also read that the ez430 does not support fuse blow.

Does the ez430 work or not? If it does not work for sure, is there a way to blow the fuse without using the MSP-FET?

MSP-FET can be used to blow the fuse of MSP430F2xxx.

I was asking if there was a way to blow the fuse without using the MSP-FET or MSP-FET430UIF.

The mechanism to blow the fuse is documented in section 1.4.1 of the MSP430™ Programming With the JTAG Interface User's Guide (SLAU320). Section 2.6.2 explains how the example schematic handles the programming voltage.

TL;DR: you'd need to build your own FET-like circuit.

I found on web one russian, older, open, standalone software / hardware, for fuse blow, based on bunch of transistors. If I remember right it was using DB9 PC UART for charging caps for VPP. I can't find it right now, but you can search for it.

Of course, you can build your own based (or not) on slau320 replicator or from FET / UIF.
