Availability of MSP430FR2110 in VQFN package

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR2110, MSP430FR2111

In selecting a part from TI I always check to see that it is active. I did so and incorporated the MSP430FR2110RLL into my design. I went to order the parts from TI and found only the TSSOP part was available, even though the VQFN part is listed as well. Does anyone know when the VQFN part will be available?

Thanks

Peter

  • The FR2110IRLLR is available for purchase right now but it looks like Digi-Key is out of stock. The device has a 6-week lead-time so you should be able to order it but it will not be packaged and shipped immediately.

  • I believe this is another TI product which while it is "supposed" to be available it is not yet. I went onto to a chat room at TI and was told it is definitely ACTIVE and in production yet the only company that has them listed is DigiKey. But as is said below they do not have any in stock. More importantly they list this item as a non-stock item. According to Digikey when it is a non-stock item you have to purchase in much larger quantities. Why would it be a non-stock item? A few days ago Mouser did not even list them but today says they are a non-stock item and have a lead time of 6 weeks. I did ask Digikey if 6 weeks delivery was accurate and was told that it could vary but could not tell me how much. I have asked Mouser if they can give me a firm delivery but have received no reply. If I was a betting person I would say this part is not yet available and I should not use it for a new design. Has anyone else tried to get hold of this part?
  • Because the MSP430FR2110 is a new part it will take a few weeks to build up an inventory, please be patient as TI tries to coordinate with the distributors. It is nevertheless an active device that can be safely used in a new design although a few weeks delay for delivery should be expected.

  • Thanks for that. This makes sense. I now see the RLL version of MSP430FR2111 is now available at the TI store. I will use this for now.
