Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPWARE, SYSBIOS,
Hi,
I've recently discovered there is a thing called SimpleLink MSP432 SDK, and I'm trying to get a feel for what it is, but I can't find any specific documentation.
Does SimpleLink replace/subsume MSPWare and TIRTOS?
Why call this package SimpleLink when you already use that name for your Wireless connectivity stuff?
Is there a summary of what versions of MSPWare, SYSBIOS, TIRTOS etc live in SimpleLink?
E.g. According to this page, the latest MSP432 release of TIRTOS is v2.20.00.06.
But, according to this post the "TIRTOS" in SimpleLink is different to v2.20.00.06 this because at the very least, SimpleLink has a fix to the MSP432 UART driver that TIRTOS v2.20.00.06 does not.
So, is there actually a newer TIRTOS release that contains this fix? Is SimpleLink out of step with TIRTOS releases? Or does TIRTOS no longer contain the drivers?
(The RTOS drivers seem to be broken out as a separate package with its own version in SimpleLink but in TIRTOS the drivers seem integral and don't have a separate version number)
Sorry for the spray of questions - I am trying to better understand how TI plans to package things in future so that I can properly plan our own version managment.
Cheers
Julian
