MSP430L092: How can I download my code into msp430l092 with four wire jtag ?

Part Number: MSP430L092
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

I am new to program my ultra low microcontroller that is msp430l092. I used MSP-TS430L092 target board, msp-fet emulation tool and IAR Embedded programme. When I use target board to download my code into msp430l092 , it works very well but I am willing to download my code with 4 wire jtag connections via EEPROM on target board because I soldered my microcontroller on my PCB board that doesn't have EEPROM, boost converter part and adaptation network part. How can I download my code with four wire jtag connections that are TDO,TCK,TMS,TDI ? I have found a picture about these connection but I don't know that does it work.  Can someone help me please? I need to take an advice to handle it.

  • The MSP-FET430UIF can only operate at a minimum of 1.8 V whereas the MSP430L092 requires a pin voltage maximum of 1.65 V, therefore an external level shifter is required. Since the MSP430L092 additionally only includes RAM memory then you must download and debug with the FET always connected or use an external EEPROM to retain the firmware after a power-down condition.
