MSP430F5500: What if D+ and D- Short under Power On Status?

Part Number: MSP430F5500

hi,

in my application, the D+, D- of MSP430F5500 need to be short cause by the path switching by SN74LV4052, is there any risk issue happen to MSP430F5500?

below is the rough concept of my schematic:

(please leave along the 9V on VBUS, I'll figure a way to fix it)

  • The USB specification says that the USB transceiver must be able to withstand a short. However, this does not mean that there might not be increased current consumption.

If you know when you do not have USB, you can simply reconfigure the PU.0/PU.1 pins as GPIOs (PUSEL=0), and make them high-impedance inputs (PUOPE=0, PUIPE=1) or disabled entirely (PUOPE=0, PUIPE=0).
