MSP430F5438A: Which UART of MSP430F5438A is used when MSP-FET is connected to MSP-TS430PZ5x100?

There are up to 8 UARTs mentioned in datasheet of MSP430F5438A , which can be used namely USCI_A0, USCI_A1, USCI_A2, USCI_A3, and USCI_B0, USCI_B1, USCI_B2, USCI_B3.

I would like to know which UART of MSP430F5438A is being used when I connect MSP-FET is connected to MSP-TS430PZ5x100.

From device manager, I can see MSP Application UART1 is connected. Which UART of MSP430F5438A corresponds to UART1 ?

The MSP-FET does not use a UART but JTAG/SBW to access the target MCU's debugger.

The backchannel UART goes through pins 12 and 14 of the JTAG connector (and pins 10/13 for optional flow control). The schematic and layout show that these pins are not connected to anything on the MSP-TS430PZ5x100.

So to get the application UART to work, you have to manually connect the signals from the JTAG connector to any of the USCI module's pins.
