Which MSP430 for DRV8332?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8332, TIDA-00274, TIDA-01362, TIDA-00827, DRV8313EVM, MSP430G2553, BOOSTXL-DRV8301

Hi!

In DRV8332's PDF it say's: "Controller (MSP430 C2000 or Stellaris MCU)"

When i search for MSP430 i find a lot of them.

-Which is most suitable for controlling a DRV8332?

-Which one of them is most suitable i can order a free sample of?

I don't need an advanced with usb, monotoring, etc.,  just a one that can controll a DRV8332!

Thank you!

Regards   /M.

  • Hi M,

TI does not provide any EVMs based directly on the DRV8332 but there are several for the DVR8313, which include the DRV8313EVM, TIDA-01362, TIDA-00274, and TIDA-00827, all of which use the MSP430G2553 or a similar G-series device. I would recommend that you start with a MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad and these TID/EVM examples to begin evaluation. Samples can be requested from the product's Order Now page. The BOOSTXL-DRV8301 is also available which should be compatible with 40-pin MSP430 LaunchPads, the most important criteria is a device which supports 5 GPIO, 3 PWM outputs, and enough memory for your application.

    Ryan
