MSP430F447: Hardware design doubt

Part Number: MSP430F447

Hi

i have drawn schematic and i have some unused pin should i have to connect to ground or to pull up , by doing so can i use it later if i want .

regards

senthil

  • Hi Senthil,
You can just leave the unused I/O pins and connect to nothing. If you want to use these pins later, you can leave those pin connect to through holes. One through hole for one I/O pin. It is no need to connect those pins to ground or pull up.

    Best regards,

  • Section 2.5 of the User's Guide says that unused pins should be "switched to port function, output direction". But if you have an external connection, the pin is no longer unused. An input should be connected to either Vcc or GND, either directly or through a resistor.
