MSP430F2617: How to enter BSL

Part Number: MSP430F2617

Hi,

I have a  customer working on downloading firmware into MSP430F2617.  According to the TI doc SLAU319N they need to use 2 pins: RST/NMI and TEST to be able to enter to BSL (internal Boot Streep Loader). But there is no TEST pin in the MSP430F2617.  Can you provide some insight into this?

Also, does the MSP430F2617 chip have factory programed BSL?  If there is no TEST pin, which pins can they use instead?

Thanks,

Chuchen

In SLAU319, there's two sections about the entry sections: Section 1.3.1 (MSP430 Devices with Shared JTAG Pins), Section 1.3.2 (MSP430 Devices with Dedicated JTAG Pins)

The MSP430F2617 appears to have dedicated JTAG pins, so your customer would use the !RST/NMI and TCK pins for the BSL entry sequence.

According to Table 21 in SLAU319, the MSP430F2617 appears to have BSL v2.13.

    Hopefully this helps.
