CCS/BOOSTXL-EDUMKII: Problem with TMP006

Part Number: BOOSTXL-EDUMKII

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi all,

I'm using MSP432P401R with the educational boosterpack MK II, and the IDE is CCSv7.2. I imported a built-in example from simplelink_msp432p4_sdk_1_50_00_12 (examples --> nortos --> MSP_EXP432P401R --> demos --> boostxl_edumkii_temperature_msp432p401r), and the project built and ran successfully. However, I only see the wording "temperature:" on the LCD screen, it seems the I2C part isn't working. Any advice? =)

Best Wishes,

Hock Wei

  • Hock,
Have you been able to run any other i2c examples with this LaunchPad (for example, the i2c driverlib master/slave examples)? Note this requires 2 LaunchPads.

  • Hi Bob:

Thanks for your suggestion! I will try it when I get hold of another launchpad =)

However just a bit more info on on running the example ("boostxl_edumkii_temperature_msp432p401r_MSP_EXP432P401R_nortos_ccs"), it seems the program always stuck in the "I2C_masterSendMultiByteStart" function.

  • Hi Bob:

It was my launchpad hardware's issue. When i tried the same code on another launchpad with the same MKII boosterpack, everything works perfectly, so I think it's just the problem of that particular launchpad.

Thanks for your advice anyway! =)

  • Glad you found the solution. If you do learn more details about what exactly has failed on that board, I'd be interested just for my own understanding. Are the I2C pins on this launchpad stuck at 0/1?
