Hello,

What is the setup and hold time of USI in SPI mode on MSP430G2432?
Also, please share the documentation for the specification.

For example, I can find the following specification for MSP430G2553; however, I cannot find for MSP430G2432.

Best Regards,
Nomo

  • Hi NOMO

I am trying to get the data of the SPI minimum setup time of USI which you know an old module. I don't know whether you can change the device to G2453 or FR2422(Most recommended) which with the peripheral of USCI and eUSCI and the same non-volatile memory size(8k). The USCI and eUSCI is more powerful and easier to use. In the meantime, they are low cost.

  • Hello Gary-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
However, my customers cannot replace the device to another MSP430.
Could you get the SPI minimum setup time and maximum hold time of USI?

    Best Regards,
    Nomo
  • Hi Nomo,

I'm sorry to tell you that we don't have the test data of minimum setup time of USI. The maximum hold time is related to the clock frequency of SPI and the setup time. The setup time is related to the load. More slavers the more time is needed for setup.
In summary you are better to observe the real waveform from the oscilloscope of SPI's CLK and data signal. And choose the proper clock frequency to meet your demand.

    Best regards
