MSP-TS430PN80USB: Controller Compatibility concern

We have the MSP-TS430PN80USB, and am wondering if the MSP430F2619 controller will work for that dev kit?  In the MSP430™ Hardware Tools User's Guide it says they aren't paired, but wondering if the controller would still work for that dev kit, or do I have to order the MSP-TS430PN80?

    Hello Jordan,

    Unfortunately, the 80 pin package of the MSP430F2619 will not work with the MSP-TS430PN80USB board. This mainly has to do with where the power rails and crystal pin-outs are in relation tot he board layout. JTAG connections would be amiss as well. You would need the MSP-TS430PN80 target board to properly evaluate the MSP430F2619.
