BOOSTXL-EDUMKII: Why do export restricitions apply to that board?

Hello,

we would like to buy several BOOSTXL-EDUMKII boards for our students here in Germany, but unfortunately this is not possible via TI online store "Due to export restrictions, we are unable to ship this part to your country". Whats the reason? Any spacecraft warp engine techniques inside?

    Hi Greg,

    I apologize for the inconvenience. Even though there is likely nothing particularly problematic on this board, the evaluation modules do still sometimes have export restrictions due to one or more parts on the board. Please note that you may still be able to buy these boards through a distributor, and the design files are also available on ti.com so that you can build the boards if you would like.

    things like that are crazy. I suspect it a misclassification, or the accelerometer.

    Most of the restrictions you run into in the (low-end) MCU land is AES or crypto engines. ATXmega for example.

    On the flipside, your smart phones are infinitely more power than the ATxmega but ...
