Part Number: CC430F6137

I recieved the following question from one of my customer:

########################################################################################################################

We designed a 868 mhz tranciever module  with CC430F6137. And we are using this module in many applications in Turkey and many other countries.

At Jordan the goverment request EN 300 200-1 certificate. How can we proceed?

Fabio

  • Hi Fabio,
    could you please check the EN number? I think it should be EN 300 220-1. That's a norm related to RF communication.

  • Sure, I'll ask directly to the customer. Today is holiday in Turkey, i hope to receive a feedback by tomorrow.
    In case it was just a typo and the real certificate is EN 300 220-1 how we can proceed ?
  • Hi Fabio,
    if it's a typo, and the government is requesting the EN 300 220-1, the EN 300 220-1 is
    "Electromagnetic compatibility
    and Radio spectrum Matters (ERM);
    Short Range Devices (SRD);
    Radio equipment to be used in the 25 MHz to 1 000 MHz
    frequency range with power levels ranging up to 500 mW;
    Part 1: Technical characteristics and test methods"

    So basically it is nothing else but the required ETSI radio certification. According to the customer's statement, they are already selling the module in other countries. Thus I assume, they have such a radio certification already. Best case, they just need to provide the test results and the certificate of this radio certification to the Jordan government. In some cases, some countries have minor differences in their certification requirements. This usually is defined by the local authorities, in charge for the radio frequencies and communication laws. I am not sure, who the authority in Jordan would be, but the government should be able to point the customer to. If a country has specific requirements, there are also test labs, with the authority to perform the required tests and issue respective certificates. They are of course also familiar with the requirements. So that's another possible point of contact.

    Best regards
    Peter
