MSP430 production programming

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-GANG, MSP430G2232, MSP430G2303, MSP430-FLASHER, MSP-FET

I am aware of the MSP-GANG tool.

What additional production programming solutions do we have available to do batch programming of MSP430G2303, MSP430G2232, etc.?

Do we have any solutions that are controlled via a Linux environment?

  • Hello Gregory,

The MSP-GANG is the only production programmer for MSP430 made by TI. Unfortunately, it's SW is only compatible with Windows OS. there could possibly be third party production programmers out there that work with MSP430 and Linux. I would definitely direct your customer to Elprotronic to see if they have a solution. they helped develop our MSP-GANG Hardware and Software in a partnership with TI.

You could also use an MSP-FET and JTAG interface with Linux. The MSP430-Flasher CLI is compatible with different versions of UBUNTU. I would also suggest the BSL interface with the BSL-Scripter with either in system (from host MCU/Processor) programming or an MSP-FET as well, but the MSPG2232 does not have a BSL. (The MSP430G2303 does.)
