Linux/MSP-EXP430G2: Launchpad is not detecting in Ubuntu

Hi,

I have tried to program my MSP-EXP430G2 launchpad with mspdebug from Ubuntu 16.04,but the launch pad is not showing in the /dev/ttyACM ,and the "dmesg" also showing some error I have tried to solve this by doing a few methods I got from google but no result, can anybody suggest a solution for this?

the MSP-EXP430G2 launchpad is not supported under Linux.

Hi Britta,

I currently not using any version of code composer studio,I am using mspdebug for programming the launchpad and it was working but for two days my machine is not detecting the launchpad and while running the "lsusb" command it doesn't showing any Ti device.

Hi Harielamadu,

thanks for the clarification.
Is your board properly powered up? It might not show up due to insufficient power supply.

What was the chance from the device was working to it's not showing up? Did you program the board? Could there have been an error during programming which locked the device?

This looks like a bad cable or a bad port. Try another port (preferrably not USB 3).

The problem was with the cable I replaced it and now it is working. Thanks for your help
