MSP430F5242: PIN FEMA test report available based on IEC61508?

Dear TI Experts,

My customer wants to know if PIN FEMA test report is available based on IEC61508, for instace, what will happen if each PIN short to GND/VCC, short to adjacent PIN and so on. Thanks a lot.

Hi Bruce,

we're not doing tests with regards to functional safety.
Still, your questions can most likely be answered when having a look at the pin specifications. For example, if you short a pin to GND and don't limit the current you'll exceed the Absolute Maximum Ratings which then causes permanent damage to the device.
The data is displayed in the device datasheet and unfortunately we cannot provide a PIN FEMA test report as requested.
