I received my evaluation boards today, and have been trying to work my way through the instructions and forums, however it looks like the software has moved on, and the GUI_demo has been renamed. In any case when I try to import the project into CCS I get the following error:

Error: Import failed for project 'MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo' because its meta-data cannot be interpreted. Please contact support.

If I try to open the file instead of importing, I cannot build or do anything. In the E2E forum I have seen others building USSLIB_GUI_DEMO, however having installed USSLIB I do not get that option, the only demo I get is: C:\ti\msp\UltrasonicWaterFR6047_02_10_00_05\examples\MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo, which I am asusming is the updated version.

We were originally developing our water meter solution based on the MSP430FR69891 reference design, however having encountered several issues which we still have not managed to resolve, we followed the recommendation made by TI and shifted to this newer design.

Let me know if you need any further information to help resolve this, we would really like to get our water meter project back on track.

Can you try on the newest CCS v8.1 version?

I downloaded and installed version 8.1 as suggested, I get the same error message, going through updates now to see if this resolve the issue, as well as working my way through the forum post above.

please confirm that C:\ti\msp\UltrasonicWaterFR6047_02_10_00_05\examples\MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo is the correct project and that I should be importing as CSS Project.

I have tried to open the project instead of importing, but I do not get the option to build the project as that button is deactivated.

I will work my way through the forums, but would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Hi Edward,
CCS project path: "C:\ti\msp\UltrasonicWaterFR6047_02_10_00_05\examples\MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo\CCS". Two files in this folder "MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo.projectspec" and "lnk_msp430fr6047.cmd".

The following seems to have resolved the issue: Once I reinstalled CCS 8.1, i deleted the USSLIB folders and the demo folder, then reinstalled all 3. Relaunched CCS8.1, annd upon launch, created a new workspace for this project, I could then import the project and have successfully built the project. I am going to try debug now

it seems install of demo onto device was successful: MSP430: Flash/FRAM usage is 58642 bytes. RAM usage is 6458 bytes.

However although the device is running, nothing is showing on the LCD display, I have not yet connected the sensors, will this affect the display in any way?

You need to tap twice the up button on the EVM board to light up the LCD. You can read the lcd_statemachine.c to learn more about the LCD functions.
