CCS/MSP430F2617: Got A programmer that uses 2 wire SBW however only 4 wire JTAG is supported in the uC.

I recently got the FET430UIF2 SBW programmer to program the MSP430F2617 controller.

However MSP430F2617 only supports 4 wire JTAG and not the 2 wire SBW offered on the UIF2.

I'm in need of a immediate remedy fast if there are anyway to modify or select 4 Wire Jtagging from UIF2.

Other fast remedies would be Appreciated as well

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been reading up on how I could use the BSL to program the F2617.

I see on the datasheet that the that P2.2 and P1.1 is used as BSL RX and TX respectively.

I've got one of the USB to Uart converters that has TX,RX,CTS and DTR pins.

How would I connect these pins to the microntroller, and are there any programs that flashes to the BSL of the F2617.

Hi Harusora,

the BSL DEMO2 is what probably helps you to do what you intend to.

It's included in the BSL Scripter Software package which you can download. Please have a look at the Bootloader for MSP low-power microcontrollers web page.

Besides you might want to check the MSP430 Flash Device Bootloader (BSL) User's Guide for further insights.
