CCS/MSP430G2221: DCO Constants programming in CCS

Part Number: MSP430G2221

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Does CCS 8 program or erase the DCO calibration constants when you download code using the Debug feature? I did not think so, but later when I tried programming using Elpotronic Lite, it says that the DCO constants were not verified. I see that the block at 0x1000 is blank. This is for MSP430G2221.

  • The G2221 has only one calibrated frequency (1MHZ), and it's at 0x10FE-FF. Did you look that far? I wonder if maybe Elprotronic is checking for the 4x that some other G2 devices have.

There is a download option to erase "protected information memory" (Debug Configurations->[name]->Target->MSP430 Flash Settings), but it's not normally set.
