MSP430F6733: Flash unintentionally erased

Hi team,

I need your help for the below case.

Application: e-metering.

After working some time in an aging room where we maintain temperature (still within operating range) and switch on/off voltage current, all the flash sections (excluding the info memory) goes 0xFF.

There were 2 cases out of 3000 pcs. I tried to re-program one of them, then it works well until now. The other one I just leave it there for the check up if any.

I checked the VDD, the RST signals. They are both okay.

What are the possible causes? Should I start requesting the FA?

  • Hello Kien,

Please go through the following application note with your customer. http://www.ti.com/lit/slaa729

If you are reading all "F's" or rather all "1's" in the device, then either the device was not programmed properly to begin with, or the device has been erased. Going through the application note above can help narrow down where the possible issue could be coming from.
  • JH,
Thanks a lot for sharing the app note with me. I went through it and completed the "Flash Questionnaire Form". Where should I submit to?
  • Hello Kien,

The questionnaire form is really a tool to help focus on what your conditions of the device so you can reference as you go through the app note to help determine/narrow down your issue.

That being said, if you are still needing help, you can post them here.
