Hello!
I am new here and have the following problem.
I have built two circuit boards with the following instructions with a MSP430G2533.

My debugger does not find the controller. The following error message appears.
MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device

I'm using Code Composer Studio v8.2 and the MSP FET -
Debug Probe, MSP MCU Programmer and Debugger

Does anyone have an idea why this might be?

Janusz,

Can you post your schematic, the G2 is pretty straight forward to get to work as all of its clocks are built in. However you do need to follow the reference design around the RESET lines and JTAG lines to get it to work.

I installed one instead of the 26 MHz oscillator with 25 MHz. I do not think it should be a problem for debugging.

Hello!
Thank you all. I have solved the problem with debugging. It was due to the capacitor at the reset pin circuit. I have removed the capacitor. I still had a question in the tutorial of TI is a UART software shown, but which is not included in the software package. Does anyone know where to download this?

The GUI is shown on page 11 in the PDF.
