MSP430F5171: Vcore with 470pF

Part Number: MSP430F5171

Hi Team,

I do mistake in the production (produce 60ku) and soldering 470pF instead of 470nF as recommended in the data sheet.

What can be cause? Maybe need to do heat & cold test in order to see if there is not extend in the current?

What you recommended to do? I don't want to replace in all the quantity the capacitor without any answer from you.

Thanks,

Shlomi

  • Hello Shlomi,

Without the proper cap value on the VCORE pin, we cannot guarantee performance of the chip in anyway. With this selection being smaller than recommended, then my opinion would be you would see unstable core voltages. This can result in any number of issues across temp/voltage/environments.
