MSP430F6724A: Physical address lost with KNX home-automation applications

Greetings,

we've been using the MSP430F6724 rev.A for some years, for home-automation application using the KNX standard.

In the last months, some customers are complaining that the devices equipped with such processor lost the physical address previously configured. Basically, a physical address is configured during the installation phase and is the unique device identifier in the local network. For some reason, suddendly some of the configured devices lose the physical address and come back to the default factory address.

Are you aware of any similar issue with this processor?

Unfortunately, I think we'd need a lot more detailed information on a system level.

Where in memory is this address being stored? Do you know what is causing this reset? (Device reset? Memory corruptions/erasure? Software function being triggered? Maybe Watch dog time out?)

I'm not aware of any issues with the MSP430F6xx MCU themselves and these MCUs have been shipping for many years unchanged.

unfortunately we're still investigating it, however it seems the responsible for this problem is the application that configures the device.
