MSP-EXP432P4111: oad_firmware_update_MSP432P4111

Part Number: MSP-EXP432P4111

Hi,

we ran 'oad_firmware_update_MSP432P401R' on the required hardware and managed to see that 'subsequent' updates work! So thats ok. The we did the same with 'oad_firmware_update_MSP432P4111' on the required hardware and notice that the first update indeed works. However a second update doesn't.
We also notice that we need to realy close the 'SimpleLink SDK Explorer' App on the smartphone to work properly.

Is this correct? We find no answers on this forum but, its hard to believe we are the only one that notice this behaviour on different hardware(PC, Laptop, smartphones)?

It's a nice feature we definitely  want to use. Therefor also the question if there is a guide explaining this update software, beyond whats in the documentation?

kind regards,

Laurent

  • Hi Laurent,

Are you using the SimpleLink SDK Explorer mobile app to perform OAD updates on the MSP432? Have you tried using the TI OAD Programmer Tool? The usage instructions are in the README for the oad_firmware_update example.

  • Hi Laurent,

I haven't heard from you in a while so I assume you resolved your issue. Feel free to reply back to this thread if you have any other related questions, or open a new thread if this is locked.

  • Hi Kristen, I noticed by just debugging and investigating the memory contents after an update has been downloaded to the flash the CRC32 check only goes right the first time, if its exactly the same as the one running! I also discovered that, even with the same code, the CRC32 check goes wrong. I'm now at a point to further investigate what is actually going wrong! I will also follow your suggestion to try the other CLI first! Have a bit of patiences, I come back to you!

    regards,

    Laurent
