MSP430FR58671: White paper on alpha particle hardness of FRAMs

Part Number: MSP430FR58671

Hi,

My customer read about some literature about FRAM devices from TI saying its ability to be unaffected by radiation(soft errors). (Ref: http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/slat151/slat151.pdf

The FAQ here does mention it is ‘very unlikely’ that alpha hit could change the polarity of a FRAM cell.

Is it possible to provide me any technical details or research data about alpha particle hardness of FRAMs (used in MSP430)?

  • Hi Sebestian,

As it is a SER(soft error rate, indicated to the radiation effect related) related questions, it is beyond our scope of knowledge. Please submit the SER related request through Customer Support Center per below guideline.

Submit the SER data/inquiring request to the sales support line by using the New Online Support Web Form

    1)      Create a new case, then select “Quality, Reliability, Environmental”

    2)      In the description section please make sure you state the full orderable TI device part number.

    3)      And state that your detail question or inquiring regarding the SER (like: technical details or research data about alpha particle hardness of FRAMs (used in MSP430)).
