Hello,

I'm working on a project using the code slaa621, but I noticed that when restarting the microcontroller, all consumption values return to zero.

What could be happening?

Hi Simion,

By default, the project you are using stores the energy measurement values in RAM. If you want to retain the values through a restart, you will want to modify the application-level code to periodically save/store the values in Flash to preserve them after a power cycle.

I can't really spend a lot of time on this code, I really believed that the values were kept on reboot ...

Anyway, can you guide me what should I change in the code?

Hi Simion,

I great place for you to start is the TI Resource Explorer code example we provide showing you how to properly write to Flash memory in an application (msp430f67641A_flashwrite_01.c) . Once you have a grasp of how to write to non-volatile memory in a general application you will then be able to incorporate that into your metering project. All you would need to do is find the variable that the consumption values are stored in and write them to Flash as often as your application requires.

I managed to solve this problem, but other doubts arose regarding the calibration variables.

I understood perfectly the use of the scale factors of voltage, current and power RMS.

But I did not understand the logic of all the other calibration parameters, could you explain to me what they are for and what they interfere in the reading of the data?

the calibration variables are:

'ac_offset'
'phase_correction'
'initial_dc_estimate'
'initial_v_dc_estimate'
'v_ac_offset'

all variables are declared in the file 'metrology-nv-structs.h'

The "Implementation of a Low-Cost Three-Phase Electronic Watt-Hour Meter Using the MSP430F67641" App Report (SLAA621) has an entire section regarding the user-configurable parameters in the project. Please refer to Section 4.4 for detailed descriptions of the user-configurable parameters and if you do not see the variables you are referring to there then they are likely not intended to be configured by the user directly.
