Hi Mark,
The errata for the device (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slaz602) does not indicate any issues at -35C. So it depends on the specific fault the UART is encountering at -35C and how the UART is used in the application. There are a few errata relevant to UART (PMM* & USCI*) in that document that they can look and see if it applies to how they are using it.
