Hi team,

I tried to debug my first program and CCS demanded a firmware update. It started the update and very soon I got an error message:

Error connecting to the target:

The target setup (CC430F5123) does not match the actual target type (MSP430FR6989)

could You please help me

Hi Thomas,

Can you try changing the device in your CCS project properties? It's found under Project > Properties > General > Variant. After selecting your device, click "Apply and Close" and rebuild your project.

Hi James,

there are only three: RF430FRL152H, RF430FRL153H, RF430FRL154H variants I can choose from and it does not work with those

I found my MSP but it still does not work.

Hi Thomas,

What version of CCS are you using? Can you try using the newest version? I suspect that when you installed your version, you didn't select the MSP430 support package. If you still have the installer for your CCS version, try re-running it and adding support for MSP430. That should fix your issue.
