MSP430F249: Verify by Uniflash and MSP-FET

Part Number: MSP430F249
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, MSP-FET

Hello,

Please tell me about the Verify button when Uniflash and MSP-FET is connected to an MSP430F249.
Does the button read flash memory contents from the target MSP430F279 via JTAG lines?
Or does it use "PSA" ?

* "PSA" -- From SLAU320 my understanding is, the checksum is calculated in the MSP430 JTAG logic.

  • Hallo,

    good question.

MI will check with the Uniflash experts and let you know.

    Thanks

  • Hallo,

    sorry for the delayed response.

I contacted the Uniflash experts on that to be sure about the implementation.

Uniflash is a generic tools to support all TI MCU's and does not necessary follow the TI implementation.

The “Verify” button actually does result in memory reads from the target and doing memory comparisons with the program data. This is a generic implementation so it works for all devices instead of calling into device specific API calls..

I hope that answers your question.

    Best regards

    Kostas
