CCS/MSP-EXP430FR6989: Firmware Update Stuck

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Code Composer Studio had me update the debug interface firmware of the launchpad before letting me launch the debugger. It got to ~50% pretty quickly and has been stuck there for the last hour and a half. Any ideas on how to fix it?

  • I downloaded whatever version was current as of Friday, May 15. I am unable to check the version number because my computer's power supply died yesterday morning. That also may have made my problem with the launchpad worse because it was still stuck in the middle of the firmware update when the computer went down.

    Sorry for not being able to provide a better answer.

    many thanks for the information. Usually, the debugger section can recover, if the FW update failed. Thus if you could try it with another PC or after restoration of the initial one, you might be able to recover the LP. But of course it might happen, that you will not be able to recover the tool. It this case, the only possibility would be to purchase a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • My new psu finally arrived. I updated ccs and it ran the recovery and firmware update successfully. Thanks for your help.
