We are creating a seperate PCB for LDC inductive sensing. I wanted to know if LDC has any library support for MSP430 that would ease my work. So I wanted to know the requirements for the MCU for example (RAM, Flash & other resources needed for LDC) if we choose any other MCU or even MSP430. I have asked this same question in Sensor forum there they have suggested to post in MCU Forum. I just wanted to know the what will be the size of the RAM, Flash and other necessary resources used for LDC. Can ayone please let me know this. I have gonr through datasheet of LDC1101 & even all the supporting documents but I did not get even a single clue. Please assist me to gain some knowledge over this topic. I shall be grateful for that.

Hi, I think MSP430F5528 as the main control of LDC should be suitable because F5528 is used on LDC1101 Evaluation Module.

you can find the library and GUI on LDC1101 EVM and you can find the code example and SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT KITS (SDK) from MSP side as well.

Hi Manish

My understanding is that 128KB flash, SPI communication interface and USB function of F5528 make it suitable as the main control of LDC1101. at the same time, MCU peripheral and memory size selection is closely related with your application. but I believe F5528 should be the good start. Thanks!

Hey Xiaodong Li,

What about RAM size? Anyway this information is much enought for me but if you can say about RAM Size it would be better for me.The reason behind my question is to whether it can be used with other version of MSP's.

Hi Manish

if USB device is needed on your application, I think 8KB SRAM should be OK. if there is no USB device, I think smaller SRAM size can be considered.
