MSP430FR59941: Boundary scan and testing

1. The Msp430fr59941IZVWR has no BSDL file

Is there a possibility to use boundary scan by JTAG lines while the MSP430 isn't "burnd" yet?

2. How to communicate with the MSP430 and to read the manufacturer's ID?

Hi, Oren,

1. MSP430 devices don't support BSDL.

2. You can use the MSP-FET or Easy-FET to access MSP430 via JTAG or SBW interface. BSL is another method to access MSP430.

Device ID is in TLV table. In the section 6.14 of the device datasheet MSP430FR599x, MSP430FR596x Mixed-Signal Microcontrollers datasheet (Rev. C), you can find the register address for the device ID.

Correct: Device ID is in TLV table. In the section 6.14 of the device datasheet MSP430FR599x, MSP430FR596x Mixed-Signal Microcontrollers datasheet (Rev. C), you can find the memory address for the device ID.
