MSP430FR5739: Production programming & JTAG/SBW lock with password (e-Fuse)

Part Number: MSP430FR5739
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, MSP-FET

Hello All,

We have built a product based on MSP430FR5739 microcontroller.

The production setup is done with a Jig to program the micocontroller with the MSP-FET tool using the command line programming profile created using the Uniflash v4.5 tool.

The profile is created to erase the memory, program the flash memory with .a43 and verify the the flash memory.

However, we would like to protect the device from JTAG/SBW access by locking it with the password. We have done the relevant changes on the firmware to set the JTAG Signature1 & JTAG Signature2.

Can the programming & re-programming of the above firmware with the secure JTAG access be done via Uniflash v4.5 ? or is there any other tool from TI to perform this ?

Also, the Uniflash v4.5 has "Make Device Secure" button. What exactly does this do to the MCU ?

Please let me know if any has the alternate suggestions to secure the JTAG/SBW interface on MSP430FR5739.

Regards,

Gopi Naga Bharath
