TIRSLK-EVM: CS0247524

Part Number: TIRSLK-EVM

CS0247524 - I assembled the kit referencing the Robot assembly manual. I then ran the diagnostics tool to validate that everything was working and only a few of the LEDs worked, the motors did not run. I contacted TI support and was told to post here for a tech response, before I can get a replacement sent out.

  • Hi John,

Yes if you run tool at www.ti.com/rslkdebugtool then you should be able to test. I want to verify you turned the chassis board on by pushing the power pushbutton in the corner? This should activate you blue power LED on the chassis board. The motors and line sensor will not work unless the chassis board is powered on. You also need to have 6 AA batteries installed in the battery compartment for the chassis board to power on.

It sounds like the tool is working if you are able to get the LEDs to flip, so your LaunchPad likely is operating as normal and need to look at chassis board elements. If you spin the wheels by hand are you able to see the encoder values counter change on the debug tool? That will also indicate those sensors are working correctly.

It seems to me your issue is power related so again verify the blue power LED is on or off. It needs to be on for the debug tool to work correctly.

  • Thank you!!! doh!
