MSP430FR2533: Looking for a small MSP430 with and i2c bus

Hi Team

One of my applications involves getting pulse inputs from a hall sensor and sending a coded piece of information of this pulse on i2c or equivalent high speed serial interface. I need to make the PCB very small ~25 mm diameter. can you suggest a small MSP430 with minimal no. of pins and a compact package for this application. the hall will be interfaced on an interrupt pin of course.

I rather like the MSP430FR2311, which comes in a <4x4mm QFN (leadless) package (16-pin) and has 12 pin interrupts, UART/I2C/SPI (pick any two), ADC, RTC comparator and other goodies.

Consider this an "existence proof", not necessarily a final choice. The TI Sales Department can probably give you an even better answer.

Thanks Bruce. This is an overkill. is there an MCU with just i2c and maybe 4-6 IOs max? I don't need a comparator or other features.

While we're waiting for TI Sales to show up [Hey, Guys!], you might take a look at the product selector here:

One of the selection criteria (down at the bottom) is "package size (mm^2)". After a whole 1.5 minutes with it, the VQFN-16 (14mm^2) looks like the smallest one. Being leadless also reduces the footprint.

The FR2311 has some siblings with slightly less stuff, and they're probably (slightly) cheaper. I'd suggest you not under-specify too much though, since it's possible one of the other peripherals will come in handy in some unanticipated way.
